General History:

2232-2237 Birth to Early Years

In the dead of a blistering New York Winter a small baby girl was deposited on the steps of St Helens Orphanage in the town of Goshen. The nuns took her in. On the blankets was pinned a lone piece of paper that read “Monet”. Taking it as her name, they called her Monet and all attempts to find her parents failed. So the authorities left her in the orphanage but no one wanted to adopt her. She spent the early years of her life watching other children come and go. And she did not understand why.

2237-2244 St Helens Orphanage School

Monet spent her elementary school years at the Orphanage’s school. She hated it but worked hard and always got good grades. She took the statewide exams every year and aced the tests. It was at the age of 5, her mental powers started to show themselves. By the age of 12, her empathy was rated at level 8, high for any child at her age. Her Telepathy was rated at 10, also high. At the age of 12 She attempted to get into a private school on a scholarship. But even though her grades were exemplary, they turned her down. The nuns however told her that she would have to get work because at 12, she was too old for adoption and they could barely support the other children. The summer between her 7th and 8th grades, she got a job at the local convenience store. Where she would work everyday from 6am-8am and 3pm -9pm for the rest of her schooling life.

2245-2249 St Helens Orphanage School

Claudia_002.jpg

She continued living at St Helens though now she paid board and for her schooling. The next four years she grew thin as she barely got fed, thanks to the Orphanages policy of not feeding the children if they missed a meal. And she missed a lot of meals. She still studied hard, often only getting 5 to 4 hours sleep a night during the school week. Again she took all the state required exams and passed them easily. To prevent her cheating, they would put PSI Blockers on her desk, blocking her mental powers. She never cheated and often had major headaches from the devices. At the age of 15, her telekinesis abilities came to the fore and she had to hide them, because the nuns thought anyone with the mental abilities she had was touched by the devil. When she graduated at 17, she had saved enough money to live on her own, and one mere hour after her graduation certificate was signed, the Nuns told her to leave. They could not have her live there any more. So with her money, meager belongings and graduation Certificate in hand, Monet went to a cheap hostel and rented a room. The next day, she began her search. Her search for her origins.

2250-2251 Year off

She spent the next year hunting through records, working in café’s and basically making ends meet as she hunted for her family and her past. But it came to nothing. Half way through the year, she packed up and brought a car and drove across the North American Continent to San Francisco. She stopped in places for a couple of weeks at a time, working on farms and generally surviving where she could. Eventually she arrived at Starfleet Academy where she applied to join. She took the entrance exams, and passed. Concerned that they would learn of her PSI abilities, she told them she wanted to take the tests again with PSI blockers. To prove she could do it. It was denied and she was told to present herself for classes in her chosen field of sciences the next week. Happy for the first time in her life, Monet spent the week she had off, on a beach relaxing. Then she reported to Starfleet Academy for classes.

2251-2254 Starfleet Academy- Science Course

Starfleet Academy was an eye opener to Monet. For the first time, her intelligence was encouraged and the professors and fellow students were friendly. And she got paid to learn. For her first year she got paid a total of 20400cr . Her second year her pay was 21600cr, third year was 22800cr and for her forth year 24240cr. She roomed with friendly students and studied hard. She majored in Xenobiology and Anthropology . When she graduated in 2254 her marks were excellent. Though while her peers were surrounded by family at their graduation, Monet felt again the pangs of loneliness but put a good face on it. She graduated in the top 1% of her class and was assigned to the USS Constitution.

2255-2257 USS Constitution-Science Officer- Ensign

When she arrived on the USS Constitution she was assigned to share a room with an engineer. During her time rooming with the engineer, her interest in combining science and engineering grew. But it would be years before she could take that interest to actual acting on it. She worked hard but she never got promoted for her work as the chief of science often took credit for the work done by those in the department. In 2257, she applied for a transfer.

2258- 2259 USS Harristown- Science Officer- Lt.jg

She was transferred to the USS Harristown with a promotion to Lieutenant Junior Grade. She extended her knowledge in science and engineering, and began working on scientific computer programs that could be used by children in schools across the federation. This posting she had her own cabin and when co-workers visited they were surprised how sparse it was. She put most of her pay that she had saved over the years at the academy and on the Constitution into the bank and invested part of it. She did not however go on a spending spree. She worked hard and her computer programs received rave reviews and her name was put on the list of nominees for The Cochrane Medal Of Excellence. She put in for a transfer to work on the Miranda Project at Earth.

2259-2260 Miranda Project- Science officer- Lt.jg

She worked hard on the Miranda project, helping to write the scientific programs for the science consoles and to help calibrate the instruments that would be need. And in 2260, it was announced that she had been awarded The Cochrane Medal Of Excellence for her work with her computer programs in the fields of science and education. When the Miranda was being ready for launch she was informed that she would be posted on it, as chief science officer.

2261-2263 USS Miranda- Chief Science Officer- Lieutenant

Pleased with her posting as chief Science Officer on the new USS Miranda, she threw herself into her job and drove her department hard. It was important to her as she had been among the people who helped make Miranda viable. Her staff were amazed by the energy and determination in their chief. Monet met her first lover on Miranda. She was 29 Though she looked a lot younger. The relationship did not last long as the man was not happy with her abilities and when they broke up, he branded her a freak throughout the ship. She applied for a transfer in 2263 and was sent to the newest Miranda class vessel, the USS Spain as their chief Science officer and was promoted to Lt. Commander.

2264-2266 USS Spain- Chief Science Officer- Lieutenant Commander

On the USS Spain, Monet kept to herself. She worked hard and refused any offers for dates and dinners. She got the reputation for being cold hearted, though she was protecting her heart from those who would hurt her. After two years she applied to take the Command exams and asked for a transfer. She left the Spain and went back to earth.

2267-2268 Starfleet Academy-Command exams

Monet spent a year at the Academy with the rank of commander and undertook the command level exams. She rented a house off campus and kept to herself. Her abilities were still not common knowledge and she did not want it to get out. She passed her exams and was assigned to the San Francisco Fleet Yards as the chief Scientific Officer working with the Head Ship Designers and builders.

2268- 2269 San Fran. Fleet Yards- Science Chief

Monet spent a year at the fleet yards working hard. Her youthful looks brought many weird glances as she worked creating the computer programs that would influence the computers of the future. She decided that she wanted more, in the education area and applied to Harvard to undertake a medical and Science Course. She took a leave of absence from Starfleet at the end of 2269. It was granted and she returned to Earth to study at Harvard.

2270-2274 Harvard, Medical And Science School

She brought a house near the university in Boston. She lived there while she studied a combined Medical and Science Degree. She worked hard and graduated with honors. She did not socialize at all. Nor did she make any excuses for her privacy. After graduation she returned to Starfleet at her former rank of commander, with a doctorate in Medicine and one in Science.

2275-2277 USS Canberra- Chief Science Officer- Commander

She returned to Starfleet on board the USS Canberra as their chief Science officer for two years. She made a major enemy with the CO of the Canberra. He was her lover from the Miranda and she found her record had a major black mark put on it, the instant she stepped foot on the ship. Pissed she threw herself into her work again and ignored the Captain. After three years of putting up with him, she took a demotion to Lieutenant and returned to Starfleet Academy and under took a Medical Course. In 2277 she was awarded the Starfleet Command Distinguished Service Medal

2278- 2282 Starfleet Medical Academy- Student- Lieutenant

Monet took her chance at the Medical Academy to do genetic tests on herself as well as her normal studies. The Genetic tests told her, her race – El-Aurian. She was 46, but looked 24. She finished her medical studies and did two years of internship before going back to her normal career. This time she stayed on earth, that black note on her record, affecting her chances. So she would spend the next three years at Starfleet medical, working as a medical Officer.

2283-2285 Starfleet Medical – Medical Officer- Lieutenant

The three years at Starfleet Medical went fast for Monet. And she studied the affects of many mind altering chemicals and beings like the Ceti eels. And after three years she transferred to Starbase one as their chief Medical Officer.

2286-2287 Starbase 1- Chief Medical Officer – Lieutenant

Monet spent the two years at SB1, upgrading the medical facilities to be the best, rivaling those on the vaunted Enterprise and other ships of the line. But she wanted to expand her specialties some more and chose to explore the possibilities of more education. At the age of 55, she now no longer considered her longevity as a curse.

2287-2288 Starfleet Medical Academy- Student – Lieutenant

She returned to Starfleet Medical Academy to study neurology and spinal surgery . She spent two years there and worked her butt off. When she had finished her specific training she was listed as a Roving Medical Officer with the Rank of Lt. Commander.

2289 USS Miranda Roving Medical Officer – Lieutenant Commander

Here she spends a year updating their medical facility and training their med staff in many aspects of care and treatment. She gains a reputation for being a cold fish as she does not socialize with the crew of the star ships.

2290 U.S.S. Excelsior Roving Medical Officer – Lieutenant Commander

On the Excelsior she makes friends with Captain Sulu but continues on her solitary way. She worked at upgrading all the equipment and trained two of the medical officers in surgery techniques.

2291 USS Akira Roving Medical Officer – Lieutenant Commander

On the Akira she was called in to repair the spinal cord of an officer injured in a battle. She spent a full year there, working and re-habilitating the officer. She took a lover while there, for once giving in to her need for companionship. They broke up when she left the Akira for the USS Bradbury.

2292 USS Bradbury Roving Medical Officer – Lieutenant Commander

She spent a year on the Bradbury quietly doing the training and upgrading she now did normally.

2293 USS Budapest Roving Medical Officer – Lieutenant Commander

Here she spends a year updating their medical facility and training their med staff in many aspects of care and treatment and keeps to herself, not wanting to interact again with crew. It seemed that her needs were on a cycle.. though it was not easy to predict.

2294 USS Destiny Roving Medical Officer – Lieutenant Commander

Here she spends a year updating their medical facility and training their med staff in many aspects of care and treatment.

2295 Starbase 234 - Roving Medical Officer – Lieutenant Commander

Here she spends a year updating their medical facility and training their med staff in many aspects of care and treatment. This would be her last year as a roving Medical Officer, before transferring to Deep Space 46 as their Chief Medical officer for a year.

2296 Deep Space 46 Chief Medical Officer – Commander

She looked at her year on Deep Space 46 as a stepping stone to her own command, praying that the black mark would not be considered as she strove for her own command. She had dreams of captaining her own Medical ship. But it was not to be. The command, sent her to the USS Destiny for 4 years, at her rank of Commander, though denied her the chief medical post, giving her the Chief Surgeon’s position instead, beneath a lesser trained and experienced CMO.

2297-2300 USS Destiny Chief Surgeon – Commander

Monet spent 4 years on the USS Destiny. She hated the incompetent CMO, who she had not trained, and had no idea how to run a department. But she refused to help the CMO save herself. She spent the 4 years quietly and relaxed. Then she applied for a command posting. But was turned down. So she applied for a transfer. It was granted and she found herself back on Earth as Starfleet Medical’s chief Neurosurgeon. It was then She received the Starfleet Surgeons Medallion.

2301-2306 Starfleet medical Chief Neurosurgeon - Commander

Vala_Mal_Doran.jpg

6 years on Earth without any chance of her own command, made Monet re-evaluate her career again. She chose to retire. It was a long agonizing choice for her to make, as she enjoyed her time in the fleet and saw it as her family. So at the end of 2306, she retired from Starfleet. She would receive a pension from the fleet of 2200cr a month until she died or got another job.

2307-2359 Retirement years

She spent the first year of her retirement sunning herself on a beach in Maui. She brought a wonderful beachside property. And she was content to spend the first year just relaxing. She was 75 years of age, but had barely aged over 25. It was now that her ageing completely stopped. She enjoyed spending time alone, but was friendly with her neighbors.

She spent the next few years guest lecturing at many universities and at Starfleet Academy, though she never took a permanent posting. In 2317, she chose to explore her heritage. She took a ship to Vulcan and from there to Memory Alpha, the library planet. Where she spent a year exploring what races had her abilities. She never found any trace of them. So she returned to Earth where she lived in seclusion for 10 years. During those ten years she spent time practicing her telekinesis and mental abilities. Well that’s the official record. She changed her BIO to reflect a genetic change to an Assumed Elaurian/Betazoid. The Unofficial is kept to herself.

After ten years in 2330 she began to guest lecture again, and spent part of every year by herself at her beachfront house. In 2359, she was contacted by Starfleet. They needed more medical officers. So she accepted and was re-instated as a Lieutenant and sent to the USS Excalibur. But she had a condition. Her black mark on her record had to be expunged. They refused but they made a note that it would not have any bearing on her command chances. Monet got it in writing.

2360 USS Excalibur Medical Officer- Lieutenant

She worked on the USS Excalibur for one year, treated by the CMO as if she had the plague. But Monet knew that the woman was feeling threatened by Thea who at 128 looked 26 and had more experience in medical in her pinky then the other woman had in her 29 years of life. So at the end of 2360, Thea transferred to the USS Congo.

2361 USS Congo Medical Officer – Lieutenant

The USS Congo was different for Monet. She made some friends and worked hard. When the Congo was decommissioned most of the crew, along with Monet, was transferred to the USS Frederickson.

2362- 2365 USS Frederickson Medical officer – Lieutenant

While on the Frederickson Monet worked hard to upgrade the tech and the crew. The CMO encouraged her to train the staff as much as she could. In four years she trained as many as she could. Before she got transferred to SB1 as Assistant Chief Medical Officer.

2366 Starbase One Assistant Chief Medical Officer – Lieutenant Commander

She worked hard on SB1 and early 2367 was assigned to one of the front line ships during WOLF 359. Before being transferred to the USS Cairo Under Captain Jennifer Bell.

2367 USS Cairo Chief Medical Officer – Lieutenant Commander

After being transferred to the USS Cairo Monet took some personal time, which resulted in the Chief Spot being given to another person. When Monet came back, that person was promoted to another job. Monet was not that eager to work on the ship as the captain was basically a zombie more concerned with her sex life then command. She lasted two years before retiring.

2369-2374 – Retirement – RISA

She retreated to Risa where she spent five years relaxing on a beach until she was recalled to Earth to teach.

2374, Starfleet Medical – Teacher – Lieutenant

In 2374, She was asked to teach classes at Starfleet Medical. She undertook it with relish and took another Voluntary Demotion to Lieutenant unconcerned as she knew it would not matter as her years would pass and she would eventually become a Lt. Commander again.

2375- 2378, Assistant Chief Medical Officer - Starbase 64 - Lieutenant-Lt. Commander

In 2375 Monet was transferred to Starbase 64 as their assistant chief Medical officer. She did enjoy her time on the starbase and worked well with the crew and staff of the medical bay. For three years Monet worked hard. And in 2378, she was offered a transfer to the USS Highlander as their Chief Medical Officer

2379 – USS Highlander- Chief Medical Officer – Commander

She spent a hear and a half on the Highlander and chafed under the misconception that a Doctor was to be ignored until one was wounded. She learnt about SPECWAR and applied to join it as a Doctor. She wanted her skills to be appreciated.

LATE 3280- USS Dominator – Chief Medical Officer – Commander

Her first SPECWAR Posting, Monet was unsure how things would go but she was looking forward to working with Professionals and in a more … unique environment as one such as a SPECWAR vessel did surely provide. But in early 2381, She transferred to back to Starbase One with a promotion to Captain.

2381 – Starbase One - Captain

She hated the time here and fought to get another posting. It came after a year with a promotion to Commodore and sent to Starfleet Medical.

2382- 2383- Starfleet Medical - Commodore

She spent three years dealing with little snots who thought they knew better before resigning and going to Betazed to relax in her retirement.

2384-Present: Retired, Civilian tutor

She was asked to be a mental abilities tutor for Commodore London and her son on the USS Resolution and accepted it.
